We care about the environment:

The Green Key (international environmental stamp) Krav (official Swedish organic stamp)

Being next to Sweden’s highest mountain requires a dose of humility. The mountain guides and custodians share a respect for nature’s forces, as their will to carefully show you the way up. This year is 100 years since the first guests came to Kebnekaise.

If you want, life at the mountain lodge can offer difficulty with demanding alpine tours, climbing courses on rock or ice, ski mountaineering, glacier walking and cross-country running over mountain moors. But your stay can also be almost spiritual with excursions in the valley under an open horizon, hikes along Kungsleden (Royal Trail), freedom and absolute calm.

After a day of mountain wind, reflection and perhaps many metres of altitude, sit down in the warmth of a fire and dream a while. A delicious three-course meal awaits before you go for a good night’s sleep. Before your next tour, eat a hearty breakfast with newly-baked bread.

STF has a long history at Kebnekaise and throughout the years, lasting traditions have developed. People still gather around the fire in the oldest part of the mountain lodge, Stenhyddan, after 100 years to share their thoughts after the day’s outings and give each other tips before the next adventure.
